Obituary for Thomas Laverty

Thomas M. Laverty, 94 years of age, 61 year resident of Mt. Ephraim, NJ, passed away on April 20, 2022.

Beloved husband for 68 years of Jean M. Laverty (nee Maxwell).

Tom was a proud US Navy Veteran of WWII, active member of the American Legion, serving as County Commander and Post Commander. He was also a member of the VFW. Tom was a retired member of the United Bricklayers Union #1 of Philadelphia and retired Foreman of the Camden City Housing Authority. Tom enjoyed a love of languages and seeing the world with his sweetheart, Jean, but was never more happy than when he was at home spending time with his family!

Son of the late Edward Laverty and Catherine (nee O'Rourke). Loving father of Paul Hoyle (Connie). Cherished "Pop" of Bridget Jacobs and Matthew Hoyle. Awesome "G-Pop" of Gracie Jacobs.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life by attending his viewing on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 8:45-9:45 am at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, 600 Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ 08031, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Tom's memory may be made to: St. Joachim's Catholic Church, Bellmawr, NJ or St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
