Obituary for Carl Schaupp


Carl Schaupp was born and raised in Philadelphia and died at the VA Garden of Grace Hospice in Coatesville, PA on December 11th, 2019.

Carl was a member of the Brick Layers and Allied Craft Workers Union PA/DE local one and worked as a stone mason on many of the historic building in downtown Philadelphia.

Carl enlisted in the United States Marines Corps at seventeen and served proudly in World War II and the Korean conflict, he remained active duty for six years and then was in the reserves. He was also a proud member of the Oxley American Legion Post 133 in Philadelphia

Carl was also an avid gardener and animal lover. He loved spending time with his family and watching Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team.

Carl was predeceased by a son, Russell and is survived by his daughter Debbie Avicolli and her husband Joe, son Carl Schaupp and his wife Carolyn, daughter Laurie Schaupp-Ross and her husband John. He also has 5 grandchildren, Melissa Lombardi, Kristie Bean, Amanda Schaupp, Matthew Madden, and Maya Ross and also four great grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his beloved chihuahua Bitsy.
